FINDING FAITH IN CHANGE

There is only one constant in life and that is CHANGE – one moment that metamorphosizes into the next. Meditation masters tell us to make the most of the present, but sometimes we can’t help but feel scared about what the future holds for us. A change in job, moving to a new city, entering into a new relationship – so many things that come at us without our permission, and there is nothing we can do but go through it. Fear is the opposite of faith, however faith is the child of trust. For starters, remember that whatever happens in life is a process – mostly, you can’t avoid it, so you might as well face it LIKE A BOSS. And when all is said and done, you can look back and feel stronger that you took the plunge and survived. Here are some useful tips to Finding Faith In Change:

  • Getting a feeling of déja vu: Ever had a similar circumstance that once happened in the past now take place in the present and it just freaks you out? Don’t worry – that’s just Life trying to bring something back to learn a lesson from it. Maybe the last time around you didn’t get the point, so you need to face it again and grow from it. In case you’re facing the same situation again and again, then seriously take a check on your reactions and change it. After all, you can’t keep doing the same thing and expect different results.
  • Feeling lost: This has happened to all of us at some point or the other in our lives. We feel like we’ve reached a dead end and on the edge of a precipice. But here’s the real deal – you can’t ignore it because life is not going to go on pause just because you are procrastinating. Take this point in your life as a good sign because there are loads of people who  go through life having no clue where they are going and one day find themselves wasting years being directionless. If you’re lost, that at least means that you know which direction you DON’T want to go in and that will then make you ponder which direction you DO want to make progress towards.
  • Wanting to seclude yourself: You may not be the emo kind, yet you find you are isolating yourself on purpose, wanting to keep a distance from friends and tune out the random buzz that surrounds you. This is in fact a positive turning point in your life. Great people who made a serious change in the world took some time away before taking off and fulfilling their purpose – be it Yoda, the Buddha, Jesus or Steve Jobs. It is in the silence that you can hear the small, still voice – intuition. Being alone can probably be the answer to what you are looking for.
  • Facing a life that is not working out: Sometimes you find that you are this point where everything you know is going bad – your world is collapsing around you. Here is the thing: you came here to fulfill a pre-destined purpose and until you face facts and start living a life in accordance with what you are supposed to be doing, nothing will ever go right. Sure, you might cruise along for a while, but soon it will feel empty and you will feel lost. Do not panic. This is the perfect time to take a step back, take a deep breath and analyze your life. If something isn’t working out, the best action to be taken is to find a new way.
  • Feeling a sense of doom about a situation: Ever had that rock in the pit of your stomach? Before getting into a situation you hear major alarm bells ringing in your head and a sense of something stopping you from going ahead. Well, heed the warning bell. Talk show queen Oprah advises that when you follow your intuition, that still, small voice, that’s when success happens. Truth is, your sub-conscience knows something before it happens. It is just your conscience (or your ego) that blocks you from the obvious. If this is the first time you are listening to the inner voice, it may be scary and like the unknown. But once you get into the flow of it, then going down the right path will become that much easier and doable. Try it.
