SELF CRITICISM FOR MOTIVATION

You might be that kind of person who has an unending to-do list that you never seem to finish, because there is always something else that gets added to it. You might also be that person who takes a look at the long list and promptly goes right back to sleep because dreamland is so much better than waking up and facing an infinity of tasks. Usually it is recommended that you practice self love, be patient with yourself and do everything to be kind. However, tough love can prove to be motivational for you to get up and DO SOMETHING!

As with a children – pampering them and showering them with love and affection can make them grow and become more confident individuals. But sometimes when they throw a tantrum and refuse to do what you know is right for them, you need to put your foot down and show them some toughness. You love them, and nothing they do wrong is going to diminish that feeling, but because you care that much, you want what is best for them. When it comes to self growth and learning, you can use the same methods. Self criticizing doesn’t mean that you love yourself any less or that you are guilty of any crime. It means that you want to transform into the best version of yourself and by using certain motivational methods, you make yourself give it all you’ve got!

Again, no matter what your personal method of self motivation, you need to not just be negative and put yourself down for your failings, but rather be practical, face facts and then start focusing on the solution. Trying to keep your head in the clouds and deny that there is any change needed will only take you further away from your goals. Being negative, on the other hand, will leave you demotivated and even more reluctant to make any progress. However, by being affirmative, you attach no emotion to the situation, but rather approach the situation with an understanding mind and a determination that cannot be doused. Be truthful to yourself leads to self awareness and then concentrating on the solution makes you a relevant problem-solver and committed to earning your stripes.
